The following parameters can be added to your signature upon signing:
Immediately after generation of the signature, a validity confirmation is acquired for the signature, which is why digital signing is only possible when you are connected to the Internet.
In order to carry out a validity confirmation inquiry, an access certificate is generally needed for signing the inquiry. The access certificate is not needed if the network where the validity confirmation inquiry is made has an IP-address-based access to the validity confirmation service.
You can order the access certificate from here.
Verification of the validity of signatures is carried out automatically when a DigiDoc file is opened. The signature is valid if the word “Kehtiv” (“Valid”) is displayed on the signature field. Words “Ei kehti” (“Invalid”) mean that the signature is invalid. In case the validity of a signature cannot be verified due to lack of a necessary certificate, the word “Teadmata” (“Unknown”) is displayed. In order to verify the validity of a certificate, the Windows certificate storage must contain the certificate of the issuer of the signer’s certificate as well as the validity confirmation service certificate (the certificates that were used at the moment of signing).
It is possible to encrypt single files as well as previously signed DigiDoc containers.
