Windows logon

The ID-card can be used for logging on to computers running on Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems. It allows you to stop using usernames and passwords and handle all electronic personal authentication procedures with your ID-card.

When logging onto Windows, a particular ID-Card is associated with a user account already existent in the computer. This user can then access the computer also with his or her ID-card and PIN.

At the moment, the ID-card can be configured for logging onto computers that work in “standalone”/”workgroup” mode, i.e. computers that are not under the Windows domain. In case you wish to set the ID-card logon procedure up via the ActiveDirectory or to a Samba server, please contact JaJa Arendus that provides the respective solutions.

Download the logon application from here (IDLogin). Unfortunately, it works only with ID-card driver version 1.3.118.

(For seeing the version of your driver, go Start -> Programs -> ID-kaart -> ID-kaardi utiliit -> Abi - Info.) In case you have a newer driver version, remove it and restart the computer before installing the version 1.3.118.

Known problems:

- Windows logon with the ID-card is not functional with newer ID-card drivers. If you wish to use your ID-card for logging onto Windows, you need to use the Windows ID-card driver version 1.3.118.

- Remote Desktop Connection is not functional when using the IDLogin program in Windows XP.
