Where can I download ID-software and which operating systems are supported

ID-card software works with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems. Every ID-software version supports only specific operating system versions, detailed information can be found here.

 

ID-software is distributed through different channels. State sponsored ID-card software is distributed through these official channels: 

 

  • installer.id.ee website

installer.id.ee website always offers software according to the operating system used to enter the installer.id.ee website.

If you for some reason need a different version of ID-card software than your current computer has then you can find those versions below:

  • Apple App Store

Apple App Store is used to distribute DigiDoc3 client and ID-card utiliy for Mac OS X users.

  • Windows Update

Windows Update is used to automatically install a ID-software minidriver component that allows authentication (but not digital signing) to e-services using Internet Explorer.   • Other distribution channels and versions 

ID-card software based on the official version is bundled in the Estobuntu Linux operating system. Read more at www.estobuntu.org

Additionally there is software for digital signing and opening digitally signed documents for Android and iOS devices. This software can be installed from either Google Play or AppStore.
