Support is ending for ActiveX digital signing component under Windows

Due to Windows XP operating system migration to the new ID-card driver it is not possible to digitally sign in web browser using ActiveX. This change will come to effect for Windows XP users from ID-software version 3.7.

ActiveX signature component support for all operating systems is planned to be removed from ID-software in version 3.8 (planned release date is second quarter 2013).

Information systems that are still digitally signing with ActiveX component should start using idCard.js javasrcipt library and a new browser based signature plugin included in ID-software.

This browser based plugin has been distributed as a part of ID-software since 2010 October and is the only officially supported digital signature component for web browsers.
