DigiDoc file container format support cycle (life cycle)

DigiDoc3 client v3.12 and later displays following message when you open a DDOC file:

"The current file is a DigiDoc container that is not supported offically any longer. You aren ot allowed to add or remove signatures to this container"

Following tables give an overview of what DigiDoc container formats are supported in which ID-software versions and components.

There is a sample file for every format.

DigiDoc 1.0 is a preliminary version that was in use for very short time. Versions 1.1 and 1.2  do not differ in file format. Version 1.2 was created after discovery of significant errors in version 1.1 libxml2 librarys older version. In version 1.3 the important differences from XAdES standard were fixed.

BDOC is a new digital signature format, which was created to replace Estonian specific DDOC (DigiDoc) digital signature standard. The main purpose for BDOC format is to be 100% compatible with international ETSI standard. In relation to the release of BDOC 2.1, the BDOC 1.0 and 2.0 will not be supported in the next software versions.
