Estonian ID-software for Mac OS X users is distributed through Apple App Store

From ID-software version 3.8 the installation package available from installer.id.ee contains only the web browser components needed for authentication and digital signing with ID-card in e-services.

DigiDoc3 client (joint application with crypto) and ID-card utility can only be installed from Apple App Store (link: http://appstore.com/mac/ria). There is a corresponding message in the end of software installation:

As a Mac OS X user you can now choose what components you want to install depending on if you are using ID-card or Mobile-ID.

To authenticate and digitally sign in e-services with Mobile-ID it's enough to install:

  • DigiDoc3 client from App Store to allow digital signing and opening of signed documents in your computer.

To authenticate and digitally sign in e-services with ID-card you need to install:

  • ID-card driver package from installer.id.ee to allow authentication and digital signing in web browsers using ID-card.
  • DigiDoc3 client from App Store to allow digital signing and opening of signed documents in your computer.
  • ID-card utility from App Store to allow changing and unblocking ID-card PIN codes.

If you have installed only the DigiDoc3 or ID-card utility from Apple App Store (i.e. you have not installed the ID-card web components from installer.id.ee) then you will get a following warning when you try to launch these programs:

Meanings:

"Ignore forever" - will never be displayed again
"Remind later" - next time you run the program it will remind you
"Install" - will open installer.id.ee website
