How to create a free App Store account, without inserting payment method, for installing DigiDoc3 and ID-card utility
Apple iTunes account is required to download different free and paid applications for Apple devices.
Starting from ID-software version 3.8 the DigiDoc3 client and ID-card utility can only be found at iTunes App Store.
NB! Free account can only be created during software installation process right before installing the actual software.
To create an account open App Store and find ID-card application you want to install. Best way to find applications is to use search by either searching for DigiDoc3 or ID-card utility.
If you have found the applications then you'll see a following view.
Now click on the "Free" button under application and continue with "Install App"
You are asked to login with Apple-ID, but since we dont have one we'll choose "Create Apple ID".
On the welcome screen choose "Continue" at the bottom.
You will be asked to read the privacy agreement. By scrolling to the bottom you can agree with Apple terms and conditions.
If you agree then check the box and click "Agree".
Next page ask's for valid email address and secure password.
NB! Secure password contains atleast one capital letter, number and punctuation mark.
Minimum password length is 8 digits. You also need answers for three security questions and define a backup email address in case you forget the password or need to change it. Instructions for password change are sent separately to backup email address.
Lastly just insert your date of birth and choose "Continue".
Now you can choose the payment method. Choose "None" that lets you download and install all applications that are marked "Free" in App Store.
If you have any bonus codes or gift certificates to redeem then these can be entered to "Enter Code" field.
Even though the payment method is set to "None", you still have to fill the address fields related to user account.
Last step is to click "Create Apple ID" upon which all data will be verified and account created if everything was correct.
Last step is to activate your Apple ID by clicking on the link in the activation email that was sent to your main email address.
If for some reason the email doesnt arrive shortly then it's possible to "Resend Verification Email".
The arrival of verification email depends on your email provider.
After activating your Apple account you can use your email and password to log into you Apple account and install free software.
