Mobile ID becomes officially certified digital identity card


As of today, February the 1st 2011, Mobile ID becomes officially certified digital identity card. This development extends Mobile ID’s area of use and now Mobile ID can be used for voting in Parliament elections in March 2011.

In order to cast a vote by Mobile ID, users must apply for new certificates issued by Police and Boarder Guard. Users are required to fill out an online application at and activate Mobile ID’s digital identity card by ID card.

There’s no need to change the SIM card. In order to vote in elections, only new certificates are required.
