Every ID-card user has a personal e-mail address, issued by the Republic of Estonia.
This address is meant as an official channel of communication between the state and the person, whereas the state can use it for providing the person with official notices and personal information relating to the person. However, other persons can send messages to this address as well.
The @eesti.ee address involves an e-mail redirection server that redirects all messages sent to your @eesti.ee address to your real e-mail address, such as @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, etc or to your work e-mail. You can redirect your messages to up to five addresses at a time.
To set up your @eesti.ee e-mail address, please visit https://www.eesti.ee/en/.
