Can I view my certificate and save it on my computer?

You can always view and save both the authentication and the signature certificates using ID-card utility.

  1. Launch ID-card utility and enter your ID-card into the reader;
  2. Choose "Certificates" section;
  3. In the general data section of the authentication or signature certificate, click on the "View certificate" button;
  4. To see certificate details, go to the "Details" tab;
  5. To save certificate click on the "Save" button;
  6. Select the folder where you want to save the certificate;
  7. Select certificate format;
  8. Click on the Save button.

If you plan to send the certificate via e-mail, then before adding the certificate as an attachment change its extension from .CER to .TXT. Without doing so recipients incoming mail server most likely will remove the attachment from e-mail.

Alternative method to this is adding the certificate to an archive using 7-Zip or another archivator (WinZip, WinRar, etc). An example using 7-Zip:

  • find the certificate from PC, which was downloaded during step 8;
  • right-click on it and choose 7-Zip > Add to "file_name.zip".

ZIP archive will be created into the same directory, send it via e-mail.
