At the end of year 2018 a new eID card will be issued. 

E-service providers and infosystem owners can order new test eID card in order to test the compablity of the new card with their systems.

System preparation in order to use the new eID card:

After using beta DigiDoc4 client you have to erase local cache directories:

  • Windows - erase %APPDATA%\digidocpp and %APPDATA%\RIA
  • macOS - erase ~/Library/Containers/ee.ria.qdigidoc4/Data/Library/Application Support/RIA/qdigidoc4/*
  • Linux - erase  /.digidocpp/tsl and /.local/share/RIA/qdigidoc4

Frequently Asked Questions

Authentication in Mozilla Firefox

  • If you are using Mozilla Firefox 64bit version, then after enableing Idemia PKCS11 loader its PKCS11 module will be installed automatically;
  • If you are using 32bit Mozilla Firefox (inc 32bit ESR version), then PKCS11 module will not be automatically installed. Users must add it manually (Options > Advanced > Certificates > Security Devices, where you should load file C:\Program Files (x86)\IDEMIA\AWP\DLLs\OcsCryptolib_P11.dll into system);
  • In order to get new eID card authentication to work browser must have installed and enabled both loaders (Firefox PKCS11 loader and Idemia PKCS11 module loader).

Parallel usage

  • In Windows and macOS you can use current and new version of eID card at same time with DigiDoc4 client. Requirement is, that you do have installed Estonian eID and Idemia's minidriver.

PIN/PUK administration

  • You must use beta DigiDoc4 client software if you are interested in changing/unblocking PIN/PUK codes.

New eID card (Idemia) and DigiDoc4 client

  • You can use beta DigiDoc4 client software for signing documents, encrypting and decrypting.

Test OCSP

  • Before starting using the new eID card against to test-OCSP, you must upload its certificates here;
  • test-OCSP serices is located at http://demo.sk.ee/ocsp.

New eID card and PinPad readers

  • During the development of current version PinPad readers Gemalto CT710 (Ezio Shield) and Omnikey 3621 / Omnikey 3821 been used;
  • PinPad reader user must install its provider driver (not Microsoft Usbccid WUDF driver). After that PinPad usage will be activated and PIN/PUK codes can be entered from PinPad;
  • There is a possibility to turn off PinPad functionality.

Authenticating to e-services

  • Download and install new test CA certificate (Test of ESTEID2018) from here;
