You can always view and save your ID-card certificates. The easiest way to do so is with DigiDoc4.
Connect the card reader to a computer, insert your ID-card, open the DigiDoc4 Client and wait until the data of your ID-card have been read. Further instructions depend to some extent on the operating system of the computer. Choose the most suitable one from the selection below:

Show Hide Step 1: open the DigiDoc4 Client and select ‘My eID’
Select either ‘Authentication certificate’ or ‘Signing certificate’ and click on the ‘Check the details of the certificate’ text link.
Step 2: save the certificate
In order to save the certificate, select ‘Details’ from the pop-up window and then ‘Copy to file’ and click on ‘Next’.
In the next step, select ‘Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER)’ as the document format and click on ‘Next’ to continue.
Select the folder where you wish to save the certificate and click on ‘Next’ again.
In order to save the file, click on the ‘Finish’ button.
If the certificate is successfully saved, a respective message will be displayed (‘The export was successful’):

Show Hide Step 1: open the DigiDoc4 Client and select ‘My eID’
Select ‘Check the details of the certificate’ under ‘Authentication certificate’ or ‘Signing certificate’.
Step 2: save the certificate
A new window with certificate details will open. If you wish to save the certificate, click on the ‘Share’ button in the upper right corner of the screen (a box with an arrow pointing up) and select ‘Notes’ from the drop-down menu.
The screen will now display the Notes saving window – if you wish to save the certificate as a separate file, click on the ‘Save’ button.Step 3: Using saved certificate information
In order to use a certificate, open Notes on your computer and drag the certificate file to a suitable folder, for instance, Desktop. You can also add the certificate in Notes with a double click.

Step 2: save the certificate
You can save certificate information in the detailed view of the certificate by clicking on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the screen.
