Version 90 of the Firefox browser prevents using ID-cards on shared computers

19.07.2021

The new version 90 of the Firefox browser was published on 13 July 2021. This version has issues in computers running the Windows operation system if several different ID-cards are used for logging into e-services.

Logging into e-services fails, as the new Firefox version remembers the certificate of the ID-card which was used last.

For authentication by an ID-card in the Firefox browser on a shared computer:

1) the certificate storage on the computer must first be emptied or

2) automatic removal of the certificates must be selected upon installation of the software.
