You don’t need to do anything but download the software and start the installation on your computer.
How to distinguish newer versions from older ones?
ID-software, as with all software, is distinguished by version number. The larger the number, the newer/more recent the software is. If you need to pick which version to download, always prefer the newest software solution. This way, you can be sure that you are protected from as many security risks as possible, your smart device/computer is reliable and you have access to the latest, most user-friendly and fastest versions of work tools.
In actuality, ID-software (or eiD software) consists of many components which we forward to you as a ‘package’ to make your life easier. Each component has its own separate version number: in addition to how new it is, the version number can also distinguish between the operating system any given component is designed for.
The following tables give an overview of the newest versions of ID-software components:
NB! All necessary software components are installed on the computer by the ID-software installation package, which can be obtained from the ID-software installation page. The exception to this is Web eID and the DigiDoc4 application for macOS users, which are distributed through the App Store.
